Situated in central Lincoln, in the riverside north east corner of Brayford Pool is The Royal William IV, dating back over 170 years in an area with a history going back considerably longer. Traces of late Iron Age occupation dating from the 1st century BC were noted during excavations in 1972.
Today the Royal William IV is a traditional Lincolnshire pub with a great selection of beers & wines, serving classic pub food in a friendly atmosphere.
There is a large sitting area outside in the warmer months, right alongside the Brayford Pool.

Christmas Lights Switch On
An absolute must for the children and the Christmas loving adults too! The big switch on is always exciting and it splits into three:
Christmas Lights at Lincoln St Marks Shopping Centre
Music, Entertainment and fun from 4:45pm with the big switch on at (drum roll.....) 6:30pm. Hosting is LincsFMs very own John Marshall and for the Swtich On you'll see on stage the cast of Lincoln's Christmas Panto from The Drill Hall, who this year are performing Cinderella (Ohhh yes they are...).
Christmas Lights on Lincoln High St
Also starting at 4:45pm with a procession including the mayor at 6:40pm and the big switch on at 7:10pm, so for the very keen, you can see both if you hurry! The high street entertainment is hosted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire and the switch on itself is hosted by none other than the lovely Melinda Messenger, who is starring in this years New Theatre Royal panto of Robin Hood.
Christmas Lights in Lincoln's Waterside Shopping Centre
Dancing, Singing and performances/entertainment will also be held in Lincoln's Waterside Shopping centre from 6pm. There will be an opportunity to meet Melinda Messenger (autographs and photos) too!

Lincoln Cathedral
Lincoln Cathedral is truly majestic and brings tens of thousands of visitors to the city each year. It is one of Englands most notable Cathedrals with a rich history and many stories to tell.
Sitting proudly on the hill, seen from many directions, Lincoln Cathedral was once the world's tallest building (for ~238 years) until it's central spires came down in 1548. Today it is still an awe inspiring 83 metres (272 feet) in height.
The Lincoln Cathedral held one of the four Magna Carta copies for hundreds of years, one of which can still be seen at it's neighbouring Castle.
The Cathedrals magnificence can be seen in modern day films, including The Da Vinci Code, Young Victoria and Netflix film, The King.
Children will love exploring the various parts of the Cathedral, including finding the famous stone Imp, infamous in Lincoln with an interesting story behind how it came to be.
